Stena Oil expanding fleet in Scandinavia with M/T Vingaren 5600 DWT Bunkering Tanker
Stena Oil is proud to announce that we have taken delivery of the latest addition to our fleet.
M/T Vingaren is a 5600 DWT bunkering tanker, custom built to suit Stena Oil’s offhore bunkering business and will operate in the most demanding conditions in Northern Europe. The new built tanker has been constructed at PaxOcean’s yard in Zhuhai, China, and her maiden voyage has been carrying a cargo of base oil by way of the Panama Canal to Colombia from where she arrived in Gothenburg last week.
M/T Vingaren is designed to be able to carry up to five grades of marine fuels with complete segregation, giving even further strength to our quality assurance system. To support efficient bunker delivery management each manifold is mounted with a mass flow meter (MFM) from Emerson Micro Motion for accurate measurement of all grades supplied to our customers.
Built with the highest standard for safety in mind, her powerful bow- and stern thrusters will provide safe manoeuvering in high seas during offshore bunkering operations. Six Tier III compliant diesel engines installed with SCR’s powers the two powerful electric engines that provides the vessel with redundant propulsion. This diesel-electric arrangement and optimized system output and power management reduces emissions and enables the highest environmental rating, Clean Shipping Index 5, offering us both economic operations as well as providing environmental benefits.
M/T Vingaren has been a project also involving Stena Teknik and her operating company, OljOla AB. We are very excited to welcome her to our fleet of bunkering tankers. Stena Oil is the leader in supplying low sulphur marine fuels in Scandinavia and M/T Vingaren will further support our growth in the Skaw/Gothenburg bunker market.
