EMSA
Our primary focus at Stena Oil is safety first, from the office in Gothenburg to our marine environment.We are proud to cooperate with the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) for recovering oil spills. Our bunker tanker M/T Norden is part of the EMSA network of stand-by oil spill response vessels, stretching all over Europe.
Regardless of which area a vessel is covering they can be mobilized in any European waters and shared sea basins. In order to guarantee a high level of service we preform regular Oil spill response training, exercises and drills together with the coastguard in Northern Europe.
Norden is still engaged in our daily bunker operations and has been customized to handle oil-spill equipment. The crew on M/T Norden is extensively trained in order to recover oil spill in the best possible way. In the event of an oil spill the commercial operation is ceased and within maximum 24 hrs Norden is available to assist local authorizes with any oil spill recovery.
